Second person - an essential requirement

It is essential that you plan your appointment so that another person can be with you. Somebody whose voice is familiar, preferably a close friend or family member. This is because during the hearing assessment we like to demonstrate hearing aids to see how each ear reacts to amplified sound. You are able to hear the difference the hearing aids will make to familiar sounds, such as a friend or partner's voice. This gives you a much better impression of how the use of hearing aids may improve and benefit your life, by giving greater access to the sounds you may simply be missing everyday.

Doctor's appointment

If you suffer from earache or discharge from your ear or ears, or are prone to a build-up of wax, then it is advisable to see your doctor to have this treated before the test can be carried out.
