Get the full cost of your hearing test back if you buy a hearing aid from us
The cost of a full hearing assessment, conducted privately by one of our consultants in your own home is £25.00. If, at the end of the hearing assessment, you purchase hearing aids from Sounds Better Hearingcare, the £25 cost of the assessment will be fully discounted from the price of the hearing aids.
Hearing tests are pain free and non-intrusive, so there is nothing to worry about. The test will check how well you can hear soft sounds and louder sounds, and sounds of different pitch.
Our hearing aid audiologist can make the sounds you hear louder, taking care to find out at what level the sounds become uncomfortably loud for you. The whole process tests each ear and tells us the level of the hearing loss you have. The audiologist can then program the hearing aids to match your specific needs.
Typically the process takes about one hour, all in the comfort of your own home.
Second person – an essential requirement
It is essential that you plan your appointment so that another person can be with you. Somebody whose voice is familiar, preferably a close friend or family member. This is because when you try the different hearing aids we can offer you, you are able to see the difference they will make to more familiar sounds like a friend or partner’s voice. This gives you a much better impression of how the different types of hearing aid affect the sounds you will hear.Doctor's appointment
If you suffer from earache or discharge from your ear or ears, or are prone to a build-up of wax, then it is advisable to see your doctor to have this treated before the hearing aid test can be carried out.
